Atlanta History Center is excited to offer a special field trip opportunity to Georgia Title I Schools

Schools are invited to book a FREE Georgia Farm Life school tour during select days in September, October, and November!

Bring your class to the historic Smith Farm, a working farm in the busy city of Atlanta. This school tour highlights the ways life has changed in Georgia through historic demonstrations like blacksmithing, woodworking, hearth-cooking, and more; importantly, students will learn about the enslaved people who lived and worked on the Smith Farm through thoughtful and age-appropriate interpretation. Enrich this experience for your students both before and after your visit using our accompanying educational resources.

Book your school tour early to ensure that your class experiences this hands-on learning opportunity!

  • Bookable dates include any Wednesday or Friday from September 4–November 15, 2024, while availability remains.
  • This tour is for Kindergarten through 2nd grade but can be adjusted up to 8th grade; group size is limited to 200 students plus chaperones.
  • A refundable $75 deposit is required to secure your date. Your deposit is not refundable if you cancel your school tour and do not reschedule.
  • The Georgia Farm Life tour is aligned to Georgia Standards of Excellence.

Request form opens July 24, 2024.
