In previous years, Atlanta History Center’s Homeschool Day programming was held in-person, activating every corner of our campus. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, we have pivoted to offer this program virtually. Whether you are new to virtual educational experiences or have been doing it for years, Atlanta History Center is here to support your family’s educational endeavors.

We are offering two 45-minutes virtual tours at 11am and 12pm. This virtual Homeschool Day Tour is free with advance registration.

Educational resources and link to tour will be sent one day prior to the tour for students to review.

Price of Freedom

Tour will start at 11am.

Students are invited to think critically about the causes and consequences of the Civil War on Atlanta History Center’s new virtual tour experience, The Price of Freedom.

Students will examine the painful realities of enslavement during the Civil War, role-play as a soldier, and carefully assess South Carolina and Mississippi’s Declarations of Secession.

By the end of this virtual tour, students will have done more than study history; they will have participated in it.

Fight for Your Rights

Tour will start at 12pm.

Do you have what it takes to be a Freedom Fighter? Travel back in time with us and find out!

In the Fight For Your Rights digital school tour, students will explore the Civil Rights era and connect it to social movements throughout time. Our time-travel guides will take students back to the past where they will meet leaders of the Voting Rights movement of 1946 and the Atlanta Sit-In movement of 1960.

Funding for this program is provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
