Community Engagement

On this special day of the year, we highlight Georgia 4-H and our partnership with UGA Cooperative Extension Service for the public and 4-H’ers across the state. This day full of fun activities represents the 4-H focus areas of Agriculture and STEM, Healthy Living, and Civic Engagement.  

Meet Fulton County Extension Agents who will be displaying livestock, and AHC staff demonstrating beekeeping, historic farming practices, and more. Come by and see what the nation’s largest youth development program is doing at Atlanta History Center.   

This event is open to the public and ticket is included in the cost of admission.

and historic crops on a Georgia Piedmont farm; these 30-minute tours are in addition to the hands-on activities and demonstrations happening at the Farm all day.

Ongoing ActivitiesExplore the Museum, Goizueta Gardens and Historic Houses There are 33-acres with 9 signature gardens to explore within Goizueta Gardens, 3 Historic Houses to find - Smith Farm, Swan House and the Wood Cabin, plus the Museum and Kenan Research Center with 11 unique exhibits about the people, cultures and history that have shaped Atlanta. 9am–4pm
Historic Farm FunExplore Smith Farm where you can visit with our animals, tour the vegetable gardens, and see engaging demonstrations of blacksmithing, woodworking, and open-fire cooking. A variety of historic crafts will be available to try throughout the day including wool carding, soap making, and candle-dipping.9am–4pmSmith Farm
