This presentation will cover what the National Register of Historic Places is, what it does and doesn’t do, as well as it’s criteria to list a property and how to start a nomination. It will also include specific resources available at the Kenan Research Center at the Atlanta History Center for historic property research, especially if you’re interested in pursuing a nomination. This is the first webinar in a series planned in conjunction with funds awarded by the National Historic Publications and Records Commission to process collections that document populations and land use in and around Atlanta; the webinars will highlight historic property research resources available at Kenan Research Centers and other Atlanta repositories.
