COVID-19: Health and Safety Updates

While our indoor exhibitions and historic houses will remain closed until July 3rd, we are thrilled to announce that our Goizueta Gardens are now open! We have implemented procedures that help us reduce contact, maintain social distancing, and keep our facilities clean. Safety measures include:

  • Following CDC’s public health guidelines
  • Disinfecting public areas regularly
  • Wearing masks
  • Placing plexi barriers at admissions and museum shop
  • Limiting our capacity to allow adequate space to social distance
  • Posting helpful social distancing markers and signs
  • Touchless ticketing
  • Low-touch experience – interactives and play areas are closed

Tickets may be purchased online in advance. Due to capacity limits, advanced tickets are required. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are only valid for the date and time you have selected. On-site sales are not permitted. Tickets are available at 30-minute intervals throughout the day—and each interval has limited capacity

To protect against the spread of the Coronavirus, the Kenan Research Center will reopen by appointment only on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. To schedule an appointment, patrons must either contact a staff member at 404.814.4040, or email

The Membership team is also available during this time and is most easily reached via email at

As of June 8, the Souper Jenny and BRASH Coffee locations at Atlanta History Center remain open for business; however, they have both instituted a "to-go only" policy. They are monitoring the COVID-19 situation daily and are making well informed decisions based on CDC and health department information. For the most up-to-date information on Souper Jenny and BRASH Coffee, please follow their social media channels.
