Making Memories in Olguita’s Garden

Kelly Jacob Wedding

A recent romantic addition to the Atlanta History Center campus, Olguita’s Garden celebrates the life of Olga “Olguita” C. de Goizueta. This ornamental garden is in bloom throughout the year, with a rich tapestry of flowering and foliage plants selected for color, fragrance, texture, and an English garden aesthetic. Double borders lead to Neel Reid-designed columns, encircling a reflective water feature. The columns, their capitals, and bases were donated to the History Center by Renee M.F. Shackelford, in memory of her husband in 1991. The garden spans the entire rear façade of the Atlanta History Museum.

Olguita’s Garden is the perfect venue in Atlanta for your wedding, elopement, or photoshoot. The Mabel Dorn Reeder Amphitheater is also a part of Olguita’s Garden, setting the stage for whatever memories you plan to make in this space. The garden, accompanying terrace, and private lawn make Olguita’s Garden a compelling space for intimate weddings and receptions. Guests will enjoy the timeless, English beauty of Olguita’s while overlooking breathtaking views of Georgia’s native landscape in the adjacent Quarry Garden.

Olguita’s Garden can accommodate approximately 50 people for an intimate ceremony. The museum terraces can accommodate 350 seated guests, or an array of café tables for a cocktail reception. Olguita’s Garden and museum terraces cannot be rented on their own but make a wonderful addition to the Grand Overlook ballroom or Atlanta History Museum.
