From March 27 to April 12, Atlanta History Center will be one of only eight locations across the country to host the National Archives’ traveling exhibit, Freedom Plane National Tour: Documents that Forged a Nation. Visitors will be given a rare chance to interact with key founding documents that helped define the nation.
Throughout 2026, we are celebrating our Centennial with a year of new exhibitions, programming, and experiences showcasing the progress, innovation, and community of Atlanta.

Founded in 1985, Atlanta-based Ichiban Records played a pivotal role in shaping Southern hip-hop, nurturing iconic artists, and fostering a distinctive sound. Story
Earlier this year, our Director of Oral History and Genealogy received an email from a veteran seeking to be reconnected with the company commander who saved his life. He had been looking for the man for over 50 years, but it wasn’t until he uncovered an interview on the Atlanta History Center’s YouTube channel – part of our Veterans History project – that lead to them finally meeting again in Atlanta.
