Summer Camp

History comes to life outside of the classroom at Atlanta History Center’s Summer Camp!

Throughout our 33 acres of exhibitions, gardens, and historic houses, young explorers will spend each week designing, diving into the past, and creating their future, with a special family day showcase on the final camp day.

Day in the Life of a Camper

Camp begins at 9 am with optional before-care available for additional cost. To start the day, Camp Counselors lead the group in morning mindfulness activities then share a morning lesson on a topic based on the camp day’s theme. Camp lessons are hands-on and engaging, often involving crafts and games, and even taking place in some of our exhibits or at our historic houses and gardens!

In the afternoon, campers enjoy lunch and recess, followed by an afternoon lesson. Pick Up takes place at 3:45 pm, with optional after-care available for additional cost. All week, campers build on their knowledge and creativity, leading to a showcase project that they will share with family on the last day of camp. You won’t want to miss “Parent Showcase!”
