It’s a large, framed, regimental standard that belonged to Philadelphia’s 127th Regiment of the United States Colored Infantry. The 127th Regiment was one of the 175 regiments that made up the United States Colored Troops during the U.S. Civil War. Jones also explains why the banner means so much today.
