Stories from the Ruins. June 1-5.
Through hands-on close reading, creative writing exercises, such as creating your own mythological creature, and guided discussions, learn how universal themes like heroism, justice, and transformation have shaped storytelling before modern media. Craft your own original piece inspired by these timeless works!

Sketching Stories. June 8-12.
Come join us this week as we learn about what films, comic books, and graphic novels look like before they’re finished. Develop character designs, color schemes, and mood boards to explore how a scene is built and use the process of storyboarding as a vehicle to convey your ideas. If you’re hoping to learn more about the connection between written and visual worlds, this is the camp for you!

Going Once, Going Twice. June 15-18.*
Have you ever read a book that started as a movie? How many movies have you seen that were once comics, novels, plays, or musicals? In this camp, develop your creative writing skills through adapting stories across page, stage, and screen. Learn what makes a story unique and what can be gained or lost as it travels from one medium to the next.

This week, you will have the chance to learn all the skills necessary to become a world-class reporter. Practice interviewing your peers, gathering information from exhibits, and changing up your writing style to find the best way to share your story.
