While collaborating and engaging in STEM-based learning, children will take on the role of a builder to create their own great big city!
Young learners will explore Atlanta’s growing buildings and transportation, focusing on changes over time and ways to get from here to there. Through maps, hands-on activities, and STEM-based learning, little ones will use teamwork, critical thinking skills, and their imaginations to create a city all their own.

This tour aligns with Georgia Education Standards and Georgia Early Learning Development Standards for Pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Pre-K
- CD-SS5: The child will understand the passage of time and how events are related.
Kindergarten
- SSKH3: Correctly use words and phrases related to chronology and time. (Note: These elements should be integrated into discussions about historical events and figures.)
1st Grade
- SS1E1: Identify goods that people make and services that people provide for each other.
2nd Grade
- S2E3b: Construct an explanation of the causes and effects of a change to the environment in your community.
This tour size is limited to 50 students.
There is no cost for school tours for Title I schools. Guided tours require one chaperone (admitted free) per 10 students.

To reschedule your tour, you must notify Atlanta History Center at least 3 days in advance of your tour date.
The cost is $11.50 per student. Guided tours require one chaperone (admitted free) per 10 students. Admission for each additional chaperone is $11.50.
A non-refundable $50 deposit is due 14 days after confirmation is received.
Full payment is due 3 weeks prior to the date of your visit to guarantee your reservation for all tours. If you book less than 3 weeks in advance, full payment is due at the time of booking.
Any updates to your student count must be made before final payment is due. Refunds are not available if the number of students has changed. Additional fees for specialty tours, experiences, and other services are also due.
Your payment is not refundable if you cancel your school tour and do not reschedule.
To reschedule your tour, you must notify Atlanta History Center at least 3 days in advance of your tour date. Your payment can be applied towards your new date. There is a $25 administrative fee to reschedule your tour.
