Located in the heart of Decatur, we are thrilled to partner with the DeKalb History Center for an exciting evening event that invites the community to explore and connect with the rich history of the area. Whether you are a DeKalb County resident or this will be your first time, the night promises to share with you the people, places, and things that make it such a vibrant community today.
Entry is free, registration is encouraged. Alcohol will be sold onsite.

About the Speaker

Stephanie L. Cherry-Farmer is a historic preservation professional and advocate.
Stephanie joined the staff of the Georgia Historic Preservation Division, Georgia’s state historic preservation office, in 2013. As the Director of the Office of Documentation and Compliance, Stephanie oversees the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Resources Survey, and Environmental Review programs, coordinating diverse efforts to identify, assess, and plan for historic resources statewide.
Prior to her work with the state, Stephanie was the Senior Programs Director and sole full-time staff of Preservation New Jersey, Inc., the statewide non-profit historic preservation education and advocacy organization for New Jersey.
Raised in Georgia, Stephanie holds a Master of Heritage Preservation degree from Georgia State University. She serves as a trustee of the Dekalb History Center and is a co-founder of the Friends of the Madison Organization, dedicated to preservation efforts surrounding the historic community theatre in her home neighborhood of East Atlanta.
She is an avid traveler, an amateur naturalist, and connoisseur of anything vintage- jewelry, clothing, music, and home décor being among her favorites.
