Celebrate the season with harvests, history, and hands-on fun! Enjoy historic demonstrations, seasonal garden activities, interactive programs from Georgia 4-H Extension, fall-themed games, delicious food, and more.

All activities are included with general admission—bring the whole family for a festive celebration as autumn begins! *while supplies last

Please note programming will take place from 10:00am-2:00pm and admission to the museum is for the full day, 9:00am-4:00pm.

Family and Kids Activities

  • Blender Bikes

    Use the power of pedaling to create your own delicious fall treat with the 4-H blender bike!

  • Fall Crafts

    Bring art to autumn with an array of seasonal crafts from making leaf people to creating fall corn for harvest!  

  • Fall Games

    Enjoy festive fall games including pumpkin bowling, hay bale tossing, and much more!

  • Quarry Garden Scavenger Hunt

    Explore our most diverse collection of native plants in an historic Quarry! Use clues to discover flora, fauna, and more in this unique garden through an interactive scavenger huntMake sure to get your prize at the end!  

    *Pleasknow that the Quarry Garden has limited accessibility through dirt ramps and stairs for entrance.  

  • Animal Encounters

    Since 1994 the Arrowhead Environmental Education Center (AEEC), part of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, offers programs to allow students of all ages to experience and learn about wildlife and ecology in Georgia.

    Join us while AEEC staff will be onsite and have some live wild animals to teach kids about the native animals and ecology of Georgia.

    Snap a festive fall photo at one of our campus photo ops!

  • Goizueta Children’s Experience

    Join us for fall fun at the Goizueta Children’s Experience! Enjoy festive, hands-on crafts, playful activities, and creative experiences inspired by the season. It’s the perfect way to welcome the season through imagination and play, designed especially for children ages 0–8.

    Learn more about the many ways to get involved in 4-H and the resources UGA Extension offers!

Demonstrations & Agriculture

  • Greet the Sheep and Goats

    Say hello to our heritage breed Angora Goats and Gulf Coast Sheep that live their best lives at Smith Farm.

    Brett Bannor, Manager of Animal Collections, will lead demonstrations at  11:00am and 1:00pm.  

  • Candle Making

    As the days get shorter, learn the historic practice of candlemaking. Make your own candle to take home with you!

  • Beekeeping

    Visit our Gardens team to learn how honey and wax were harvested and used in daily life. See live bees (safely contained in our observation hive!) while you learn about honey, try a sample from the hives at AHC!   

  • Cider Pressing

    Cider pressing was an important way to preserve fruit from the harvest. Visit our farm to learn about the machinery and techniques used, as well as try your hand at pressing apples. 

  • Three Sisters Activity

    For centuries, indigenous groups—including the Cherokee of the southeast—grew squash, beans, and corn. This trio became known as the Three Sisters and continues as an important piece of Native American culture and agricultural practice. Learn more about the story and realities of the Three Sisters with 4-H members.

  • Live Music

    Enjoy a variety of live music from 4-H members, including Piano and Saxophone performances!

  • AHC Bar Stations

    Soft drinks and alcoholic drinks available for purchase from our AHC bar.  

  • Chick-fil-A

    A selection of Chick Fil A menu items will be available for purchase.

  • Facepainting by India

    Kids of all ages can enjoy complimentary facepainting designs from Facepainting by India!  

  • Pop-Up Shop

    Stop by our museum shop and our outdoor Pop Up Shop to load up on fall goodies, from books to stuffies and more!
