New year, new Parties! Join us Thursday, February 9th from 6:30 – 9pm at Sweet Auburn Curb Market. A central gathering place since 1924, the Curb Market has many stories to tell. Starting at 6:30, come grab a bite to eat, a beer to drink, and learn some history about this important piece of our community.
At 7:30, we'll hear from Akila McConnell, Founder and Chief Eating Officer of Atlanta Food Walks, who will fill us in on the Curb Market's history. As a sweet bonus, we'll have a special live performance by local jazz swing band, Jules & the Gents.
Throughout the evening explore the history of the Curb Market with pop-up displays as well as screenings of the documentary from Southern Foodways Alliance and filmmaker Katie King - "The Sweet Auburn Curb Market."
If you're like us, you appreciate delicious food. The Curb Market will have a few stalls open for business after hours just for our party-goers. Look forward to Panbury’s Double Crust Pies, Grindhouse Killer Burgers, Three Cities Pizza, Miss D’s Popcorn and Pralines, and just add honey Tea Company! We'll also have a cash bar on site for your libation needs.
As always, Party With the Past is free to attend, but be sure to RSVP so we know you're coming.
Paid parking is available on site. It will be a $5 flat fee (cash or card) in the Curb Market lot, but be sure to pay before heading into the party.
We highly encourage everyone to take advantage of public transportation – Sweet Auburn Curb Market is a stop on the streetcar route. Also, Uber and Lyft are things.
Party With the Past is a FREE program connecting young ATLiens to the historic locations around them (and the cold brews they crave). Come explore Atlanta's past and build a stronger community for the future.
