Join the New-York Historical Society to learn more about their Women & the American Story curriculum, a free online resource that provides teachers and students with information about the myriad and often critical roles women played in shaping United States history. Through a guided tour of the site and an interactive session using primary and secondary sources from the new unit A Nation Divided, 1832-1877, learn new instructional strategies for bringing the diverse perspectives of women into your remote instruction, and develop new confidence for elevating women’s voices in your Civil War-era lessons.

Women & the American Story programs and resources are made possible through the generous support of Deutsche Bank, the Robert & Mercedes Eichholz Foundation, the Institute for Museum and Library Services, IBM, and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in New York.
