Chervinsky to learn how John Adams defended the presidency as George Washington envisioned it\, preserved executive authority\, and created the peaceful transfer of power. Facing a threat of war from France\, a mutiny in his own cabinet\, and treacherous partisan divisions\, Adams demonstrated remarkable restraint and civic virtue. These contributions preserved the new republic through the first constitutional crisis and remain essential to our institutions today.  \n\n\n\n*Copies of Dr. Chervinsky’s book\, Making the Presidency\, will be available on site for purchase at the event. \n\n\n\n\n	\n \n About the Lecturer\n\n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDr. Lindsay M.
