Neranenah & ATL Collective—On And Off The Records: The Music of Atlantic Records

Public Programs
Saturday, Jan 28 2023 @ 8pm - 10pm

Leveraging the power of music and storytelling to transport the audience to a moment in American history, On & Off The Record presents live performances of classic music designed to honor tradition, peek behind the scenes of cultural movements, and ask fundamental questions about our nation’s history and identity.  This event series is presented by Neranenah, a cultural event series with roots in Jewish culture and musical traditions, and ATL Collective, which exists to grow stage for the Atlanta music community and sustain musical careers.  Shows are performed by seasoned local musicians, with proceeds supporting both organizations.  The program is generously hosted by Atlanta History Center.

Each show selects works from an album or record label that examine a particular cultural identity and introduces narrative elements that explore the social significance of the work.  Drawing from favorites ranging from Chess Records and Chuck Berry to Atlantic Records and Hall & Oates, the series invites music enthusiasts to experience America’s greatest artistic moments while enjoying their beloved jams.

Woodruff Auditorium is located inside McElreath Hall.
