SUMMARY:Ashley Wright McIntyre Lecture featuring Dr. Bill Walton
DESCRIPTION:Tickets. $50.\n \n Tickets\n \n \n\n \n\n\n\n\nBroiled or steamed\, grilled or fried\, raw or Rockefeller\, mignonette or cocktail sauce\, cracker or shooter – how do you like your oysters? That is the question! Regardless of how you prefer to doctor your oysters\, learn about the aquaculture of oysters from Dr. Bill Walton of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science\, aka Dr. Oyster (Bio and Instagram). The method of ‘off-bottom oyster farming’ is revolutionary in the industry. While producing world-class oysters\, this technique also improves the environment along our southern coastline. Who knew you could farm your oysters while improving the environment at the same time? Here at the Cherokee Garden Library\, you can learn about oysters and enjoy them too!  Please join us for a lively evening of all things oysters – no shucking required! \n\n\n\nCasual oyster roast to follow. \n\n\n\nThe Ashley Wright McIntyre Lectures are made possible with generous funding from the Ashley Wright McIntyre Education and Programming Fund\, part of the Cherokee Garden Library Endowment.
