AHC Lecture: Ann Uhry Abrams, Formula for Fortune: How Asa Candler Discovered Coca-Cola and Turned It into the Wealth His Children Enjoyed

Formula for Fortune narrates the life and times of Asa Candler from his ancestral background to the death of the last of his five children. Candler rose from a rural background to reap a fortune. His windfall came from purchasing the Coca-Cola formula in 1888 and establishing the company that became a national phenomenon in less than a decade.

Homeschool Day: Strange History: Fact or Fiction?

The Atlanta History Center offers special monthly programs for homeschool students and their families. Each month explores a different subject through exhibition tours and a variety of activities for kids from toddler to teen. Admission to Homeschool Days is $8.50 for nonmembers; $6.50 for children of members; and free for adult members.

Magic Monday: Historic Halloween
