Who Was Here First? Native Americans in Georgia

Tuesday – Friday; Grades K-8
Limit:  75 students
Duration:  2 hours

Students learn about Native Americans, the first residents of Georgia, during this guided tour. The tour includes an exciting journey through the Quarry Garden and Swan Woods Trail, where students identify a variety of plants and learn how they were used by American Indians for food, medicine, and other products. Inside the museum, students visit our permanent exhibitions Shaping Traditions: Folk Arts In A Changing South and Native Lands: Indians and Georgia before creating their own Indian-inspired crafts.

This is an outdoor tour so please dress appropriately. In case of rain, some activities will be held indoors. Please note that this tour is not completely wheelchair accessible. Due to outside tour components, this tour is not available during December – February.
