Swan House Ball
The Atlanta History Center celebrated the 28th Swan House Ball, chaired by Barbara Joiner and honoring the Jackie and Tony Montag Family, on Saturday, April 27, 2013. While the sky threatened rain all day, guests were ultimately able to enjoy the theme of “Southern Elegance” with cocktails on the lawn of the Swan House, and dinner and dancing in the Grand Overlook Ballroom. The Swan House Ball, the Atlanta History Center’s largest fund raising gala, provides critical support for the educational programs and operations of one of the Southeast’s most highly regarded museums. Each year corporate and individual sponsors support the History Center’s mission by donating generously both to attend the Ball and also during the live auction that evening. We were honored to have PNC Wealth Management as our presenting sponsor this year, and The Coca-Cola Company as a Platinum Sponsor. Stunning décor of blue and gold was provided by Tony Brewer and Company, and Mary Hataway’s Soirée Catering and Events served a truly elegant dinner of lamb and beef tenderloin. Auctioneer Jim Landon entertained the crowd while raising over $50,000 on seven spectacular auction items, and Joe Gransden and his band brought everyone to their feet for dancing following the auction. The Atlanta History Center is grateful to all donors and sponsors who made the evening’s success possible.
