Philip Trammell Shutze: Atlanta Classicist

Closed for renovation until further notice

Philip Trammell Shutze, one of Atlanta’s foremost twentieth-century architects of residential and commercial buildings, was also known for his important collection of porcelain, silver, furniture, rugs, and paintings. Following his death in 1982, Swan House at the Atlanta History Center became home to Shutze’s decorative arts collection. English and Continental pottery and porcelain, Chinese export porcelain, and American and English period furniture are among the pieces showcased in Philip Trammell Shutze: Atlanta Classicist, Connoisseur, and Collector, on display in the Swan House Terrace Level gallery.
