Tuesday – Friday; Grades K-12

Black Phoenix is a journey of the African American experience in Atlanta from slavery to the Civil Rights Movement.  The tour begins with a trip to Tullie Smith Farm to see a settler’s cabin and learn about slave life. Students also tour our signature exhibitions Shaping Traditions: Folk Arts In A Changing South and Metropolitan Frontiers where they gain knowledge of the pioneers of black business in Atlanta and the civil rights leaders who helped make Atlanta the city that it is today.

The cost is $6 for guided tours. Guided tours require one chaperone (admitted free) per 10 students. Admission for additional chaperone is $6.  This tour is discounted for Title I Schools.
