An Evening with Stacy London: The Truth About Style

Tuesday, October 09, 2012   6:00 PM

6:00 PM Cocktail Reception
7:00 PM Talk and Book Signing

As co-host of TLC’s "What Not to Wear," Stacy London’s talent for seeing past disastrous wardrobes to the emotional issues that cause sartorial crises has transformed the look and the life of hundreds of her guests. Now for the first time in print, London turns her insight on herself.

Like those she has transformed, London has plenty of emotional baggage. She suffered from psoriasis at an early age and developed anorexia on a misguided quest for perfection. By the time she joined the staff at Vogue her weight had doubled from binge eating.
Eventually, London learned we wear our insecurities every day. It was not until she found the self-confidence to develop a strong personal style that she became comfortable in her skin. In The Truth About Style, London shares her painful history and the healing power of personal style, and demonstrates how style helps overcome the emotional obstacles we all face.
In addition to "What Not to Wear,' Stacy London has a regular segment on NBC’s Today show called “Ask Stacy.” She is the co-founder and stylist in chief of Style for Hire. A contributing editor at People magazine, she previously worked at Vogue and Mademoiselle.
Tickets are $45 members; $55 nonmembers. Each ticket includes an autographed copy of The Truth About Style and admission to the cocktail reception beforehand.
